Bringing the kits in:


Squirrelflight rested quietly, all curled up in the Warrior's Den, it was Leaf-bare right now and there were not a lot of prey. Suddenly, Squirrelflight's ears flicked as she heard the paws of a cat silently padding over to the entrance to the den. Squirrelflight felt the familiar twinge of anxiety coming from…
"Leafpool again?" groaned Squirrelflight, recognizing the unusual bond she shared with her sister, though she couldn't explain it but she could tell how she was feeling and where she was. Quietly, she crawled out of the den, avoiding the tails of her clanmates as she followed Leafpool out of the den.
"What? Its leaf-bare and I'm cold!" Squirrelflight hissed softly as Leafpool's ears twitched slightly. "The kits are here…"murmured Leafpool.  Squirrelflight' ears perked up right away as she noticed the sweet scent of milk clinging of Leafpool's fur. "Where are the kits?" asked Squirrelflight, her eyes gazing around the camp. "They are in the forest, under the trees behind the camp," replied Leafpool. "What? Out in the cold! What a mousebrained move!" hissed Squirrelflight as she shot out of the camp as Leafpool ran quickly, trying to keep up with her.
Soon they stopped as Leafpool instantly curled up around three tiny bundles under a spot in the tree that had the snow cleared out. Squirrelflight padded closer as the kits mewed and pushed themselves closer and started to suckle. "I couldn't give birth to them in my den, their scents would have stayed there" murmured Leafpool as she arched her head and started to groom the kits.
Squirrelflight gazed at the kits, her eyes softened for a moment until her eyes stopped at the black kit. "Why is there a black kit there? Our clan doesn't have any black cats, so who is the father?" Squirrelflight demanded. Leafpool shook her head. "They're halfclan, aren't they?" guessed Squirrelflight. Leafpool looked up, shocked. "Its not that hard, like I said, there aren't any black cats in our clan" added Squirrelflight.
"Please don't tell anyone. Squirrelflight, will you please keep these kits? For me?" begged Leafpool, her eyes wide with worry as Squirrelflight stared at her for a few seconds. There were some sharp words Squirrelflight wanted to say to her sister, but she pushed them down, she couldn't, not towards her sister. "Alright" replied Squirrelflight as she crouched down, looking at the three kits again. "Two toms and one she-cat" commented Squirrelflight. "What are their names?" added Squirrelflight. Leafpool smiled and nosed a pale gray tom close to her. "This is Jaykit. I've seen their eyes already, briefly. Jaykit's eyes are as blue as a jay" introduced Leafpool.
Then Leafpool moved her nose towards a golden striped tom. "This is Lionkit, his fur is as bright as a lion, and his eyes got that same amber glow," said Leafpool. "This one?" asked Squirrelflight, pointing towards the black she-cat. "This is…"started Leafpool, suddenly her eyes clouded with what appeared to regret. Leafpool quickly shook her head and finished. "This is Hollykit, for her eyes are as green as a holly leaf," said Leafpool.
"Jaykit, Lionkit and Hollykit" repeated Squirrelflight. "Those are nice names," commented Squirrelflight as Leafpool nodded in agreement. "We better get back to camp" informed Squirrelflight as she nudged the three kits up to their feet. The kits wobbled a bit before steadying themselves as they awkwardly walked after their mother as Squirrelflight stayed behind, nudging the kits on.
Soon they arrived at camp as Leafpool slunk straight into the Medicine Cat's den, leaving Leafpool along at the entrance with the tree kits mewling in front of  her paws. Squirrelflight wanted to snap at her sister to get back here, but she remembered her promise and kept her jaws shut.
Soon the others were waking up and walking out of their dens. "Okay, think Squirrelflight, think!' Squirrelflight thought in annoyance as the other clan members started murmuring in shock as they approached her. Squirrelflight glanced up to see her father, Firestar, leap up to the highledge. A dark tabby pelt caught her attention as Squirrelflight saw Brambleclaw walk towards her, a confused, but hopeful glance in his eyes as his eyes were gazing at the kits so intensely as if the kits just popped out of nowhere.  
"Kits?" Mousefur rasped in shock as Longtail followed behind, sniffing the air. Immediately, a thought occurred to Squirrelflight, it would work, though she hated calling herself that but…
"Oh, I'm so mousebrained! I had no idea I was close to kitting otherwise I would have moved into the Nursery by now! Luckily Leafpool noticed and helped me with my kitting. I had been in the forest when they came, luckily Leafpool was there with me!" Squirrelflight said in an exaggerated, dramatized voice.
Firestar padded over with Sandstorm close behind. Sandstorm's whiskers were twitching with amusement. "No worries, we know you are mousebrained" chuckled Mousefur in a raspy voice.
"Daisy and Ferncloud will prepare a spot for you in the nursery" informed Firestar, flicking his tail towards the Nursery. Squirrelflight nodded her head in thanks.
"What are their names?" asked Ferncloud in a soft voice as she padded over to the kits, her belly swollen with her own kits. "Jaykit, Lionkit and Hollykit" replied Squirrelflight. "Oh my! Your milk hasn't arrived" Ferncloud suddenly announced, her eyes filled with worry as there were gasps all around. "I don't know why…I wish someone could care for them for me" Squirrelflight murmured quickly. "Daisy and I will care for them," Ferncloud said sternly as she herded the three mewling kits into the Nursery as Squirrelflight nodded in thanks.
Soon everyone was congratulating her. Squirrelflight looked shyly at her paws when suddenly a shadow covered her. She glanced up to see Brambleclaw hesitate then padded over. "Are they, mine? I mean, ours?" meowed Brambleclaw in a deep voice. Squirrelflight nodded as Brambleclaw nuzzled her as she purred in reply. "They're beautiful," commented Brambleclaw. "I know, they will grow up as strong as you," murmured Squirrelflight happily as she glanced to the side and noticed Leafpool looking at her with a thankful look in her eyes. Squirrelflight broke off from Brambleclaw and nodded slightly to Leafpool as Leafpool turned and disappeared back into the Medicine Cat's den.
The fur on Squirrelflight's neck bristled uneasily as she glanced around, as everyone was busy congratulating and talking about her happily. She spotted what made her uneasy. At the corner, sitting stony silent, not congratulating her, was Ashfur. His blue eyes glared furiously at her as Squirrelflight instantly turned her head away.
"I'm sorry Ashfur…"whispered Squirrelflight as she stood up and walked into the Nursery to see her, no, Leafpool's kits.
